KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 13 (Bernama) -- Allianz Malaysia Bhd (Allianz Malaysia) has been included in the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Select List 2025 by the United Nations Global Compact Network Malaysia and Brunei (UNGCMYB).
The insurance and financial services group said the recognition reflects measurable progress in embedding ESG principles across its operations as a trusted insurer in the country.
“The ESG Select List highlights organisations that have demonstrated credible and structured progress in advancing sustainability, aligned with the UN Global Compact’s Ten Principles and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” it said in a statement today.
Allianz Malaysia was named a 3-Star Lister, with recognition across key categories including ESG Breakthrough Innovation, Purposeful Partnership and The North Star ESG Target Setting, underscoring its long-term, outcome-driven approach to sustainability.
Chief executive officer Sean Wang said trust is the foundation of insurance, while sustainability underpins how Allianz Malaysia conducts business and creates lasting value.
“This inclusion in the ESG Select List 2025 reflects the collective commitment of our people to integrate responsible practices into our strategy, operations and culture.
“While we are encouraged by this recognition, we see it as motivation to continue raising the bar and contributing meaningfully to a more resilient and inclusive future,” he said.
Allianz Malaysia’s ESG initiatives focus on climate action, inclusive insurance solutions, responsible business practices, employee well-being and community empowerment, reinforcing its role as a long-term partner to customers and society.
The ESG Select List is a sustainability recognition framework by UNGCMYB designed to highlight organisations demonstrating tangible progress and accountability in their ESG journey.
“Inclusion does not constitute an endorsement or certification but serves to encourage transparency, continuous improvement and collective action,” the statement said.
