Arteris Network-on-Chip Technology Surpasses 4 Billion Devices

KUALA LUMPUR, March 4 (Bernama) -- Arteris Inc, a provider of semiconductor technology, announced its network-on-chip (NoC) interconnect intellectual property (IP) has shipped in more than four billion devices globally.

This milestone underscores the company's significant growth in enabling the underlying data movement for artificial intelligence (AI)-era chips and chiplets, according to Arteris in a statement.

Arteris president and chief executive officer, K. Charles Janac said that reaching the four billion deployment mark reflects how essential data movement has become to modern system design across all regions.

Janac views the data movement enabled by the interconnect architecture as being as foundational as compute and memory, especially as AI systems grow larger, more distributed, and heterogeneous.

The acceleration in deployment is primarily driven by increasing adoption in AI-enabled systems. Arteris’ system IP is particularly suited for managing the rising compute density, energy efficiency requirements, chiplet integration, and complexity inherent in these modern designs.

The NoC interconnect IP is shipping in production silicon at an accelerating scale across critical AI-driven applications, including automotive, enterprise computing, consumer electronics, and industrial sectors worldwide.

This widespread deployment continues to rise across all segments, driving corresponding growth in the Arteris variable royalty revenue stream. This growth extends beyond the company’s historical average annual growth rate of approximately 20 per cent.

The growing need for greater energy efficiency, enhanced safety and security, and high-performance computing is speeding up the transition to intricate, multi-die architectures. Arteris NoC technology is a demonstrated solution for these complex interconnect requirements, securing design wins that result in mass-volume deployments.
