Kumpulan Pelaburan MARA Contributes Corporate Donations, Business Zakat

KUALA LUMPUR, March 4 (Bernama) -- Kumpulan Pelaburan MARA has channelled corporate donations and business zakat covering various welfare initiatives with a total value of RM56,000 in conjunction with the month of Ramadan.

Chief executive officer Mahdzir Othman said the corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme is the company's ongoing effort to contribute back to society, especially those in need during the month of Ramadan.

"Our CSR programme has indeed been implemented for the past few years as an effort to give back to the community and help those who deserve assistance, including asnaf children so that they can celebrate Hari Raya along with other Muslims.

"We hope that programmes like this can continue to contribute to the community and at the same time strengthen the relationship between the company and the community that receives assistance, as well as being an example for other companies to also support charitable efforts," he told Bernama at the group's Ramadan 2026 Iftar ceremony.

At the ceremony, Pelaburan MARA Bhd chairman Datuk Mohamad Razali Mohamad Rahim handed over RM30,000 in business zakat to the MARA Junior Science College (MRSM) Ulul Albab through the group's subsidiary PMB Tijari Bhd.

Business zakat amounting to RM3,000 was also handed over to the deputy chairman of the Muslim Welfare Organisation of Malaysia (PERKIM) and business zakat sponsorship for iftar and duit raya for asnaf children under the Pertubuhan Kebajikan Asnaf Al Barakh Malaysia totalling more than RM13,000 was donated by PMB Tijari, PMB Analytics Sdn Bhd and the PMB United sports and welfare club.

Pelaburan MARA Bhd together with its four subsidiaries, namely PMB Investment Bhd, PMB Tijari, PMB Analytics and PMB Sustainable Sdn Bhd also channelled a corporate contribution of RM10,000 to the same organisation to support operational and maintenance needs.
