KOTA BHARU, Sept 21 (Bernama) -- Kelantan will only declare the teachings in GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISBH) as deviant if they are similar to the teachings of the banned Al-Arqam, said State Mufti Datuk Mohamad Shukri Mohamad.
He said further investigation and authentic evidence are required before any decision can be made.
"I will bring up this issue for discussion at the Muzakarah Committee of the National Council of Islamic Religious Affairs which will be held in Kuala Lumpur at the end of this month.
"If there are matters arising or new features in GISBH, then a new fatwa will be issued," he told Bernama today.
Yesterday, the Perlis Fatwa Committee declared the teachings and beliefs espoused by GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd as deviant and a continuation of the banned al-Arqam movement.
The decision was made following a meeting chaired by Perlis Mufti Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin.
