KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 4 (Bernama) -- A private university student was fined RM500 by the Magistrate's Court here today after pleading guilty to fraudulent possession of an access card which he used to trespass into an international school last month.
Magistrate Farah Nabihah Muhammad Dan meted out the fine, in default five days in prison, on Mohammed Zayed Taher, 19, of Bangladesh.
The Bangladeshi man was charged with possession of an access card of an international school, which was fraudulently obtained, at the school in Brickfields here, at 12.55 pm last Nov 29.
The charge, framed under Section 29(1) of the Minor Offences Act, provides a maximum fine of RM1,000 or a maximum imprisonment of one year or both upon conviction.
Based on the facts of the case, the accused was arrested by the principal of the school for trespassing into the school. He was clad in the school uniform then.
Deputy public prosecutor Amritpreet Kaur Randhawa appeared for the prosecution while Mohammed Zayed was unrepresented.
