30 SENIOR SAUDI ARABIA ANTI-CORRUPTION OFFICERS PARTICIPATE IN MACC-ORGANISED COURSE

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 26 (Bernama) -- A total of 30 senior officers from Saudi Arabia’s The Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (NAZAHA) attended a course organised by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to strengthen the global anti-corruption network through the sharing of expertise.

The five-day course titled 'Intelligence-Based Investigation in Combating Corruption: Strategies and Best Practices', conducted by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Academy (MACA), concluded today.

MACA senior director Datuk Mohd Hafaz Nazar said the programme is an important platform for Malaysia to share its expertise in modern investigation methods while strengthening strategic understanding with international partners.

"Such cooperation can expand the global anti-corruption network, in addition to strengthening our shared commitment to upholding integrity and good governance," he said when speaking at the closing ceremony of the course here today.

He said the objective of the course was to strengthen understanding of MACC's best strategies and practices through the Intelligence-Based Investigation (IBI) method, which emphasises the collection and analysis of intelligence information for more effective investigations.

Mohd Hafaz also said the NAZAHA delegation, led by its head of department Alqahtani Ayedh Saeed M, also paid a courtesy visit to the MACC Headquarters in Putrajaya yesterday.

"The visit provided an opportunity for the delegation to closely examine MACC's approach to strengthening governance, implementing anti-corruption strategies, and touring the commission's operational facilities," he added.
