KUANTAN, Nov 4 (Bernama) -- An elderly man who was reported missing on Sunday (Nov 2) in the Chegar Medang Benus area, Bentong, was found safe this afternoon.
Bentong district police chief Supt Mohd Zaiham Kahar said the victim, Mohd Taib Ismail, 69, was found by the search and rescue (SAR) team at approximately 3.15 pm today in a weak condition in a bush area, near the Department of Irrigation and Drainage’s (DID) Kampung Chegar Medang flood warning system station.
"The victim has been sent to Bentong Hospital for a health check-up," he said in a statement today.
He also said they still haven't obtained clear information regarding the senior citizen's reason for being in the area, adding that the victim suffers from memory problems and is receiving treatment at the hospital.
Additionally, Mohd Zaiham also expressed his gratitude to the SAR team and the residents in the area who were involved in helping to find the victim.
