MUKAH, Jan 3 (Bernama) -- A man is feared to have drowned after he fell off his boat while fishing at the Muara Batang Oya here today.
A spokesperson for the Operations Centre (PGO) of the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPN) said a team from the Mukah Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) arrived at the scene after receiving a call at 9.23 am.
The victim, identified as 28-year-old Awang Ismail Awang Rosidi, is believed to have gone alone to the river estuary to fish.
“A search has been launched in coordination with the police and Civil Defence Force,” he said in a statement.
