PUTRAJAYA, Jan 19 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) detained a 39-year-old Bangladeshi man suspected of using a fake Temporary Employment Visit Pass (PLKS) while attempting to depart for Dhaka from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 2 yesterday.
AKPS said the man was stopped at about 4.40 pm at the KLIA Terminal 2 International Departure Hall during checks on passengers of an AirAsia flight scheduled to depart at 7.25 pm.
“Initial inspection found that the individual possessed a digital Temporary Employment Visit Pass (ePASS) affixed inside his passport. However, further verification revealed that the pass is suspected to be invalid and fake,” the agency said in a statement today.
The man was detained and placed at the KLIA Terminal 2 Immigration Depot before being handed over to the AKPS Enforcement Division at KLIA for further investigation and action under applicable laws.
AKPS reiterated its commitment to strengthening national border security and said it would not compromise on any attempts to misuse travel documents or immigration passes.
