BERNAMA READY TO COLLABORATE WITH STATE GOVERNMENTS FOR TOURISM PROMOTION

05/10/2024 02:55 PM

MELAKA, Oct 5 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) is always open to and welcomes collaboration with the state governments in promoting tourism destinations in Melaka as well as other states through the organisation of various interesting and unique programmes.

Its chief executive officer Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin said this includes organising treasure hunt events such as the 'Melaka Explorace 2024', held in conjunction with Visit Melaka Year 2024 (TMM2024).

She said that the treasure hunt programme is one of the best platforms for promoting and introducing a tourism area, especially since Bernama has experience in organising such programmes since the 1990s.

“We hope that this inaugural hunt in collaboration with the Melaka government will be a success, allowing participants to explore the history and unique treasures throughout this state based on the questions provided.

“Moreover, the ‘treasure’ that participants will discover will be donated to an orphanage in Jasin,” she said at the Melaka Explorace 2024 flag-off at the Independence Declaration Memorial Square in Banda Hilir here today.

Organised by the Melaka government in collaboration with Bernama, the treasure hunt was flagged off by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh.

Also present were Bernama chairman Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai and editor-in-chief Arul Rajoo Durar Raj.

Nur-ul Afida expressed gratitude for the trust placed in Bernama by the state government through its chief minister, which strengthens the news agency's commitment to ensure the event runs smoothly and meets expectations.

“As the chief minister has mentioned, God willing, there will be further collaboration next year,” she said.

Further commenting on Melaka Explorace 2024, she noted that the competition not only fosters camaraderie as participants enjoy answering questions and completing the required missions but also offers them an opportunity to engage in charitable deeds.

The 2024 Melaka Explorace will take more than 300 participants to explore the three districts in the state, namely Melaka Tengah, Jasin and Alor Gajah, where they are required to complete the given tasks by walking, driving, riding a rickshaw and taking the Melaka River Cruise.

Participants also need to upload interesting photos and videos on social media during the competition as an added value for them to win the main prize of RM10,000 for the open category and RM5,000 for the Media and Melaka Government Agencies/Bernama categories.
