SANDAKAN, Oct 24 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has not received any official complaints regarding the supply and prices of eggs in the area from January until today, said Sandakan KPDN chief enforcement officer Azdy Zukkry John.
He said that despite that, enforcement officers continue to conduct daily inspections at supermarkets, including every distribution chain.
"Besides these inspections, KPDN has also taken the initiative to establish a WhatsApp group with selected dedicated district retailers (DDR), selected dedicated district wholesalers (DDW), and egg suppliers in Sandakan to monitor the movement of controlled and non-controlled egg supplies," he told reporters after conducting egg supply inspection here today.
According to Azdy, an inspection conducted at a supplier's premises today found that the total stock for grades A, B, and C eggs for distribution is 94,950, while the number of non-controlled chicken eggs is 126,990.
"KPDN will not compromise with any parties that attempt to disrupt the supply or manipulate the prices of controlled eggs," he added.
He urged the public with information regarding any misconduct by traders to submit official complaints via WhatsApp at 019-2794317 or 019-8488000, through e-aduan.kpdn.gov.my, or by contacting the call centre at 1-800-866-800 or through the Ez ADU KPDN smartphone app.
