IPOH, Oct 24 (Bernama) -- The flood situation in Perak is improving, with only one relief centre still operating in the Hilir Perak district, housing 17 evacuees from three families.
According to the State Disaster Management Committee secretariat, two relief centres - Dewan MPTI Langkap in Hilir Perak and Sekolah Kebangsaan Dato’ Sagor in Perak Tengah - were closed this afternoon after all evacuees were allowed to return home.
“A total of 17 people from three families are still seeking shelter at Dewan Serbaguna Chikus.
“All the evacuees have been placed at the relief centre since last week due to the floods that affected Kampung Sungai Tungku, Kampung Parit 12, Kunci Air 4 and Kampung Permatang Pelanduk,” the secretariat said in a statement.
