KUCHING, Nov 5 (Bernama) -- The public is invited to enliven the Sarawak-level Kita MADANI Carnival, taking place this weekend at the Penview Convention Centre (PCC) Demak here.
Sarawak Information Department director Helmy Hamid said various exciting activities would be organised over the two-day event, such as the Sarawak MADANI Community Town Hall, Infiesta PENTARAMA, exhibitions and sales.
The Rahmah Sales programme will also be held from 10 am to 9 pm, offering attendees essential goods at affordable prices.
“This carnival will feature 24 exhibitions involving agencies under the Communications Ministry and other government departments and agencies. Additionally, there will be 17 booths from the MADANI Community showcasing and selling handicrafts and local food products.
“Attendees can also enjoy demonstrations on crafting and cocoa-based products, along with mobile services from the National Registration Department and the Kuching Division Dental Health Office,” he told Bernama today.
Helmy said the Infiesta PENTARAMA would run from 8 pm to 10.30 pm, blending informative content with entertainment activities, including a TED Talk on Budget 2025.
The event’s highlights will be on the second day, namely the MADANI Community Town Hall with Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil, which will involve 900 members of the Sarawak MADANI Community.
“Prior to that, a discussion session will cover two special topics with Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Law, MA63 and State-Federal Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali and Royal Malaysia Police Anti-Scam Ambassador Rahmat Fitri Abdullah,” he said.
Helmy said the Kita MADANI Carnival and the MADANI Community Town Hall would indirectly strengthen the good relationship between the people and leaders while providing a platform for exchanging ideas and perspectives.
“I’m confident that the organisation of this carnival will bring together, enhance and reinforce the functions and roles of the MADANI Community, especially in Sarawak.
“It is also hoped that this carnival will encourage community involvement in disseminating accurate information about government initiatives to the grassroots level,” he said.
Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Corporate Affairs, Information and UKAS) Datuk Abdullah Saidol is expected to officiate the Kita MADANI Carnival and MADANI Community Town Hall, held for the first time in Sarawak.
