PUTRAJAYA, Nov 7 (Bernama) -- More than 500 congregants of Masjid Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin (MTMZA) here today participated in the Majlis Bacaan Yasin Perdana organised by the Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA).
The event began with a tazkirah (short religious talk), followed by the Maghrib prayer, recitation of Surah Yasin, and concluded with the Isyak prayer.
Speaking during the event, MTA chief executive officer Mohd Radzuan Mohamed said that the Yasin Recital ceremony was held to mark the 40th anniversary of the takaful industry in Malaysia.
“The objective of the event is to pray for the success and prosperity of the takaful industry, seek blessings for the health and well-being of Malaysians, and strengthen community bonds through joint worship,” he said.
Mohd Radzuan said that the Yassin recital ceremony also involved 30 mosques and suraus nationwide and was broadcast live on Facebook via the official accounts of MTA and MTMZA.
Among the mosques that participated in the programme were Masjid Al-Khairiyah Taman Seri Gombak, Batu Caves; Masjid Kampung Alor Ara, Pekan, Pahang; Masjid USIM, Nilai, Negeri Sembilan; and Masjid Nurul Hikmah, Bukit Padang, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
During the event, the MTA also presented donations to two welfare homes, namely Rumah Pengasih Warga Prihatin and Rumah Bakti Al-Kausar.
