KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 19 (Bernama) -- Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil has urged consultants involved in upgrading the wakaf cemetery land near Masjid Khadijiyyah, Pantai Dalam, to expedite the preparation of a phased development plan.
He said this is essential to ensure the local community can utilise the cemetery in the near future.
“I urge the consultants to swiftly prepare the phased upgrade plan so that the community can benefit from it. Insya-Allah, the next meeting is scheduled for December,” said the Lembah Pantai Member of Parliament in a Facebook post.
He added that a discussion had been held with the mosque committee members, the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (JAWI) and representatives of the developer company to deliberate on the project.
During the discussion, the consultants highlighted that the project should begin with upgrading drainage systems to prevent erosion.
Fahmi previously said the opening of a new cemetery on wakaf land in Pantai Dalam was expected to take three months after receiving approval from the Kuala Lumpur City Hall.
