KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 28 (Bernama) -- Malaysians, especially students and professionals, can explore upskilling and reskilling opportunities, discover potential new career paths as well as identify roles impacted by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital skills through the MyMAHIR platform.

The recently-launched  MyMAHIR platform can be accessed via https://www.mymahir.my/home

One of the key elements on the landing page of the platform featured the ‘In-Demand Roles’, providing users the information on the highly sought-after positions due to strong career prospects, competitive salaries and high demand for qualified candidates.

MyMAHIR will provide job descriptions, basic skills and specific skills needed for the selected roles, as well as enabling users to compare the work nature and skills needed for each role.

On its landing page, the platform also highlighted ‘Emerging Roles’ or newly developing roles that arise from advancements in technology, sector trends or market needs, offering opportunities for growth and innovation.

It also outlined ‘skills’ namely basic skills, specific skills and technological skills as guidance for users on MyMAHIR homepage.

Additionally, users can take the assessment test to evaluate their current skill levels and identify areas for improvement as the platform offers tailored upskilling and reskilling recommendations based on the results, helping individuals better align their competencies with emerging job requirements.

MyMAHIR users can access resources, training programmes and career advice to support their career development and transition into high-demand roles as well as access the extensive role libraries and uncover career opportunities based on their capabilities.

On Nov 18, Human Resources Minister Steven Sim said MyMAHIR's comprehensive digital platform developed to equip Malaysian talent with skills for the future will be a guideline on industry trends, job roles, required skills, career paths, and training programmes available in various sectors.

He said by integrating the results of Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad's (TalentCorp) Impact Study on Al, digitalisation and the green economy, the platform will function as a centralised resource, as well as a skills taxonomy to help stakeholders prepare a workforce for future changes.

The MyMAHIR platform was developed by TalentCorp with a primary focus on identifying critical skills and co-creating customised training programmes.

Meanwhile, Sim said the ministry is allocating RM3 billion starting in 2025 to strengthen the local workforce and its adaptability in response to rapid technological advancements and changing industry demands.

He said the allocation will be channelled through various agencies, such as the Manpower Department, which manages 33 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutes in the country, Human Resource Development Corp (HRD Corp), TalentCorp and the Social Security Organisation (Perkeso).

This will be channelled through a range of support measures including levies, credits, scholarships and matching grants.
