TWO YEARS IN OFFICE, DPM AHMAD ZAHID PLEDGES COMMITMENT TO ACHIEVE GREATER SUCCESSS

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 5 (Bernama) -- Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has pledged to continue to serve with full commitment and dedication to achieve greater success that the country can be proud of.

On the occasion of the two-year anniversary of his appointment as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Rural and Regional Development, Ahmad Zahid, through a Facebook post today, said that throughout the first two years in office, various challenges were faced, but many successes were also achieved.

He said among these achievements was the introduction of the UP_TVET system as a single channel for applications to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses, and the increase in the employability rate of TVET graduates to 94.5 per cent.

In addition, he said the halal industry’s contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has reached 7.9 per cent, with halal product exports amounting to RM53.72 billion, while RISDA Holdings Group recorded a financial performance of RM37 million, with a projected performance of RM70 million by the end of this month.

“All efforts toward these achievements were implemented with one main goal, which is to make Malaysia a developed, respected, and prosperous country.

“This success is not the achievement of an individual, but the result of close cooperation between all the people, agencies, and leaders who have collectively supported a common aspiration,” he posted.

Ahmad Zahid said that every effort made aimed to bring progress to rural areas, empower human capital, strengthen the Bumiputera economy, uphold Islam, improve national disaster risk management, and expand the country's halal industry to the global stage.

In the post, he also expressed his gratitude to all parties who have entrusted him with the responsibility.
