KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 6 (Bernama) -- The Chicken Rice Shop (TCRS), a homegrown halal family restaurant, has reintroduced its fan-favourite Grilled Butter Chicken with an exciting twist—a creamy salted egg sauce—to tantalise Malaysian taste buds.
In a statement, TCRS Restaurants Sdn Bhd said the Grilled Butter Chicken, a staple of its year-end menu since its debut, was available at TCRS outlets nationwide until Jan 12.
“This year, TCRS has elevated the dish with a bold twist by infusing it with the nostalgic essence of salted egg, enhanced with fragrant curry leaves and a touch of red chillies for a perfect balance of creaminess and spice,” the statement said.
TCRS Restaurants Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Wong Kah Yong said the Grilled Butter Chicken had been a signature year-end menu item for over 15 years, adding that it remained one of the most anticipated dishes among customers.
“This year, we decided to bring back our signature dish with an exciting twist to keep our customers intrigued.
“At TCRS, we are always experimenting to create fresh and unique experiences, blending familiar favourites with bold innovations. We hope our customers will enjoy this special dish as much as we enjoyed creating it,” he said.
The ‘Grilled Butter Chicken & The Golden Egg’ is available in three set options, catering to individuals as well as groups.
To complement the indulgent dish, TCRS is offering the Gua Cheeky Berry drink—a refreshing fruity punch featuring a blend of pink guava, strawberry, and mango—that pairs perfectly with the rich, creamy flavours of the meal.
Kah Yong added that TCRS aimed to create meals that brought families and friends together, not just during festive seasons, but throughout the year.
