PUTRAJAYA, Dec 16 (Bernama) -- A total of 79 officers from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) have earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree under the Accelerated Leadership Programme Series (ALPs).
MCMC managing director Datuk Mohd Ali Hanafiah Mohd Yunus announced that the collaborative programme with local universities comprised two cohorts of junior executive-level MCMC officers from various departments.
The first cohort had 39 officers and was conducted with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), while the second cohort involved 40 participants through a partnership with Multimedia University (MMU).
“ALPs is a platform to nurture young leaders, where participants are given opportunities to speak, present, develop business plans, and more.
“We also invite industry players to share their experiences and provide industrial exposure to the participants,” he said during a media briefing after today's closing ceremony for the second cohort.
Also present were MCMC chairman Tan Sri Mohamad Salim Fateh Din and MMU president Prof Datuk Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud.
Mohd Ali stated that MCMC plans to proceed with a third cohort and that the tender for interested universities will be opened soon.
ALPs is fully funded by MCMC, and designed to develop leadership capabilities specifically for high-potential MCMC talents. It is based on the Behavioral Competency Model and Digital Leadership Traits.
Meanwhile, Mazliham, in his speech, noted that ALPs equips MCMC officers with the right tools, mentorship, as well as resilience, enabling them to tackle challenges and transform them into opportunities for future growth.
“As a proud partner in this journey, MMU is honoured to have contributed to equipping you (the participants) with both academic knowledge and practical tools necessary to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital landscape,” he said.
