KAJANG, Dec 17 (Bernama) -- The Works Ministry (KKR) is enhancing roads and highways in preparation for the 2025 ASEAN Summit.
Its minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said the ongoing efforts include upgrading roads and facilities along routes designated for protocol vehicles and dignitaries.
"Work has already started, utilising a special allocation from one or two months ago. Our focus at KKR is to ensure that the roads along the protocol routes are in top condition," he told reporters after the launch of the Cultural Night Run @ Penang 2nd Bridge (CNR) 2025 here today.
In his speech at the event, Nanta also suggested that the organiser of CNR 2025, the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM), rename the event to "ASEAN Culture Night Run" to reflect Malaysia's role as the ASEAN Chair.
CNR 2025 is the fourth edition of the annual running event, which takes place at the Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah Bridge in Penang.
The event combines running activities across various categories with artistic and cultural performances to showcase the nation's multicultural heritage.
