SHAH ALAM, Dec 23 (Bernama) -- Universiti Selangor (Unisel) and Dar al-Hikmah College (KDH) today signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to collaborate in offering the MADANI Studies programme, a new postgraduate course set to commence next year.
The agreement was signed by Unisel president and vice-chancellor, Prof Datuk Dr Mohammad Redzuan Othman and KDH president Datuk Dr Muhammad Nur Manuty, witnessed by Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hasan, in a ceremony held at Unisel’s Shah Alam campus.
Zulkifli, in his speech at the ceremony, said the MADANI Studies programme will serve as a concept or framework for education, particularly those in the form of leadership, through comprehensive thought processes.
“Today, we are witnessing positive developments where many activists, practitioners and implementers are contributing to good causes, but we are lagging in the aspect of thought leadership.
“Therefore, the launch of this programme is very timely, as we aim to cultivate more thought leaders and develop new knowledge corpora,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Redzuan said the Master’s programme will take a minimum of one year to complete, while the doctorate programme will require three years, following the structure set by the Ministry of Higher Education. Both programmes will be conducted online.
He added that the number of students and the detailed syllabus will be determined after a consultation session next month.
