LOTUS'S MALAYSIA FURTHER DONATES AID WORTH OVER RM100,000 TO HELP FLOOD VICTIMS

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 23 (Bernama) -- Lotuss Stores Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Lotus’s Malaysia) remains committed to assisting recent flood victims by contributing over RM100,000 in aid through its #Kitakanjiran initiative.

Lotus’s Malaysia Corporate Services executive director, Azliza Azmel said the initiative builds upon previous #Kitakanjiran flood relief efforts, in collaboration with the Malaysian Red Crescent Society (BSMM) as its logistics partner.

“This time, we are providing 500 hygiene kits containing approximately 20 essential items for flood victims, including laundry detergent, toilet paper, and personal hygiene products such as toothpaste, towels, sanitary pads and baby diapers.

“All these items have been selected based on recommendations from BSMM, which is more familiar with the specific needs of flood victims,” she told reporters at the Lotus’s Kepong compound here today.

She added that the kits will be sent to three affected states—Kelantan, Terengganu, and Kedah  - and that the items will first be gathered at BSMM’s headquarters here before being distributed to the victims.

“Although most victims have returned to their homes, we remain committed to providing ongoing support by delivering these aid kits to those in need,” she said.

Azliza explained that the kits are designed to meet the needs of a family of five and are sufficient to last for up to one month.

She also highlighted that around 50 volunteers, comprising Lotus’s Malaysia staff, were involved in packing and loading the aid supplies, underscoring their commitment to helping flood victims.

Earlier this month, Lotus’s Malaysia collaborated with the Kelantan branch of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) to distribute essential goods and food supplies to flood victims at temporary relief centres (PPS) in areas such as Rantau Panjang and Tumpat.

In addition, Lotus’s Malaysia extended assistance to the East Coast states to help 51 of its employees who were affected by the flood  disaster.
