PUTRAJAYA, Dec 30 (Bernama) -- The Confirm Ai programme, spearheaded by Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), serves as a platform to enhance student skills through artificial intelligence (AI)-based learning technology.

UNITEN vice-chancellor Prof Dr Khairul Salleh Mohamed Sahari said the programme has aided students in achieving academic excellence and honing critical thinking skills.

“Since the launch of Confirm Ai, we have observed a significant improvement in student performance, not only academically but also in developing digital skills, which are crucial for the future.

“With the world becoming increasingly digital, it is vital that we provide students with the opportunity to master technology. Confirm Ai is an excellent example of how technology can be leveraged to improve the quality of education,” he said at the presentation of the Confirm Ai Excellence Awards 2024 here recently.

He added that since its inception, Confirm Ai has attracted participation from tens of thousands of students and schools nationwide.

This achievement has been further supported by Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB), which has funded its implementation in schools with contributions totalling RM1.5 million since 2016.

The Confirm Ai programme is part of the university’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative under the Yayasan Canselor UNITEN, aimed at enhancing student academic performance by harnessing AI technology.

The programme, which includes research aspects particularly in AI technology, is conducted in collaboration with the Innovation and Research Management Centre (iRMC), enabling schools to engage in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) initiatives.

It works closely with the Marketing and Student Admission Department (MSA) to implement programmes in schools, encompassing academic initiatives and personal development activities such as leadership workshops, team building, educational opportunities, and motivation sessions.

Meanwhile, special awards were also presented to schools and individuals who demonstrated leadership in leveraging technology to enhance the educational experience.

Awards were presented to schools that successfully integrated AI into their curriculum and to students who excelled in the 2024 Maths Wizard Challenge competition.

The Maths Wizard Challenge 2024 saw participation from 177 students, representing five per cent of the total participants who passed the qualifying test.
