SEPANG, Jan 3 (Bernama) -- The Third Hajj, Umrah and Tourism Carnival (PJH Carnival) at the Movenpick Hotel and Convention Centre here is offering economy Hajj packages for under RM55,000.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar said the three-day carnival, which ends this Sunday, features participation from 37 pilgrimage organisers appointed by Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH).
"The PJH Carnival is an excellent platform to nurture understanding and awareness about the management and services of pilgrimage packages for prospective pilgrims.
"I hope organising companies take this opportunity to directly promote the packages available to the public and prospective pilgrims throughout this carnival," he said at the launch of Karnival PJH here today.
Also present were TH chairman Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Hussain, TH Group managing director and CEO Syed Hamadah Syed Othman, and Malaysian Bumiputera Travel and Tour Agencies Association (BUMITRA) president Dr Wan Muhamad Adam Wan Norudin.
Mohd Na'im said the carnival, organised by TH and BUMITRA, was expected to attract more than 16,000 visitors.
"Therefore, I call on the public, particularly Malaysians intending to perform Hajj, those who have received Hajj offers, or those planning to undertake umrah or travel, to attend this carnival to explore the packages available.
"Prospective pilgrims can also receive clear explanations and directly inquire about the packages offered.
"I urge the selected pilgrims for this year's Hajj season to attend the PJH Carnival to directly ask questions and obtain detailed information on the packages available," he said.
He added that the carnival served as TH's initiative to showcase the services of the 37 licensed pilgrimage organising companies.
"I am confident that these companies possess strong capacities, expertise, sufficient experience, and competence to provide excellent services and safeguard the welfare of Malaysian pilgrims," he said.
In addition to pilgrimage packages, visitors can also explore umrah and tourism packages offered by the participating firms.
