AMIRUDIN, CHIEF SECRETARY VOW TO BOOST SELANGOR-FEDERAL TIES

SHAH ALAM, Jan 15 (Bernama) -- The cooperation between the Selangor and federal governments will continue to be strengthened in line with the public service reform agenda championed by the Chief Secretary to the Government, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

Amirudin said this was among the topics discussed during his courtesy visit to Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar in Putrajaya today.

"I would like to thank Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar for welcoming my visit and exchanging perspectives on enhancing the level of cooperation between Selangor and the federal government.

"May the strong synergy and understanding between the Selangor state government and the federal government be further solidified through the public service reform agenda championed by Tan Sri Chief Secretary," he said in a Facebook post.

Amirudin said the discussions, which covered various topics, were positive and well-received by both parties. Shamsul Azri also shared his memories of serving in Selangor more than 10 years ago.

Earlier, Shamsul Azri also touched on his meeting with Amirudin, where they discussed various matters regarding federal-state cooperation as outlined in the Kuala Lumpur Declaration 2024.

He said they also deliberated on Selangor's role in Malaysia's chairmanship of ASEAN 2025 as a catalyst for regional cooperation.

Shamsul Azri appreciated Amirudin's insights and commitment, expressing confidence that the meeting would further enhance the synergy and close ties between the federal and Selangor governments.

"As a former civil servant in Selangor for 18 years, I am proud to receive the courtesy visit from the Right Honourable Menteri Besar to my office," he said.
