YKM'S BANTUAN KASIH TO BE DISBURSED BY MONTH-END

KUALA LANGAT, Jan 24 (Bernama) -- Yayasan Keluarga Malaysia (YKM) will begin crediting Bantuan Kasih assistance to nearly 1,000 eligible recipients by the end of this month, said its chairman Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

He said that this follows a decision made during the foundation's Board of Directors meeting last December to shift from providing annual assistance to monthly payments.

“This Bantuan Kasih will be distributed to nearly 1,000 recipients, with an annual financial implication of RM3 million. This amount is expected to increase, as we are still receiving new applications and are currently in the process of screening them,” he added.

He shared this information during the Ziarah Kasih programme, held in conjunction with the Chinese New Year, in Jenjarom today.

He further noted that Bantuan Kasih covers two age categories: Category A, for children from birth to 15 years old, who will receive RM200 per month; and Category B, for recipients aged 16 up to the completion of their first Bachelor's Degree, who will receive RM250 per month.

“YKM is also calling on members of the public who have been affected by COVID-19 to reach out by contacting 03-2202 7493 or emailing admin@yayasankeluargamalaysia.org.my for assistance, based on the foundation's established conditions and qualifications,” he said.

He also disclosed that in conjunction with the Chinese New Year (CNY) celebrations, YKM will support 16 children who lost their parents due to the COVID-19 pandemic with a special contribution of RM300. This assistance will be credited to the recipients' accounts nationwide, starting today.

“This donation is intended to bring joy to the recipients as they prepare for the upcoming CNY celebrations and to ease their burden,” he added.
