KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 27 (Bernama) -- UKM Medicare Sdn Bhd (UKMM), a subsidiary of UKM Holdings Sdn Bhd, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with three subsidiaries of Radicare (M) Sdn Bhd to strengthen service delivery and promote the adoption of green technology for improved energy efficiency in healthcare facilities.
UKM Holdings, the commercial arm of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), aims to leverage this collaboration to enhance UKMM’s competitiveness in offering holistic, comprehensive and inclusive healthcare services.
Its group chief executive officer (CEO), Mohd Rizal Zubair, emphasised that the MoU would facilitate more efficient regulatory processes while encouraging environmental conservation through the implementation of green technologies.
“This synergy between UKMM and Radicare’s subsidiaries has the potential to bring transformative benefits to Malaysia’s healthcare industry, especially in facilities managed by UKMM,” he told reporters after the signing ceremony.
The three Radicare subsidiaries involved in the collaboration are Radifems Sdn Bhd, Radibems Sdn Bhd and Medilaund (M) Sdn Bhd.
The MoU was signed by Mohd Rizal and Radicare (M) Sdn Bhd CEO Hidaya Yahaya and witnessed by UKMM head of operations Nur Nasuhani Rahmat.
Meanwhile, Hidaya said the collaboration with UKMM would positively impact the company’s operational efficiency and strengthen the national healthcare sector.
“This partnership highlights Radicare’s commitment to leveraging shared expertise to achieve mutual goals in the healthcare industry,” he said.
The Radicare Group currently serves 45 government hospitals and is expanding into university hospitals across Malaysia, he added.
Radifems Sdn Bhd general manager Mohd Rozi Mat Noh said the green technology initiatives align with efforts to protect the environment and promote sustainable development.
“We are confident that these technologies will enhance energy efficiency in healthcare facilities, contributing significantly to environmental preservation,” he said.
Medilaund (M) Sdn Bhd general manager Syed Jalal Syed Shuhaimi also highlighted the collaboration’s potential to improve patient care by optimising energy efficiency and implementing green technology.
“This partnership is expected to deliver more effective healthcare solutions for the community. Medilaund is one of the largest linen and laundry service providers for healthcare facilities in Southeast Asia,” he added.
