KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 31 (Bernama) -- SIRIM Berhad today announced the appointment of Md Adha Rahmat as the new acting chief executive officer (CEO) of SIRIM QAS International and Nagyb Shah Abdul Rahim Shah as the new acting CEO of SIRIM Calibration.
SIRIM president and Group CEO Datuk Dr Ahmad Sabirin Arshad, in a statement, said the appointments to lead its certification, inspection and testing subsidiary as well as its calibration and measurement arm would take effect on Feb 1 (tomorrow).
"I am delighted to welcome these strong and talented executives to SIRIM’s leadership team. Each of them brings to their position outstanding achievements and experiences, which will benefit the SIRIM Group, our clients and stakeholders," he said.
In the same statement, he also expressed his appreciation to Nur Fadhilah Muhammad for her outstanding service to SIRIM, particularly her strategic leadership at SIRIM QAS International.
Md Adha, who was previously the senior general manager of the Testing Services Department, succeeds Nur Fadhilah, who has retired.
With extensive experience in certification, inspection and testing services, Md Adha was among the key drivers in transforming SIRIM QAS International’s systems towards digitalisation to enhance efficiency and improve customer service.
He was also instrumental in the development and implementation of the SIRIM 55 ESG Management System Certification, a flagship programme designed to help organisations and companies align their businesses with global sustainability and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards.
A Professional Technologist under the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT), he is also a graduate of the University of Arizona, United States, holding a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Meanwhile, Nagyb Shah Abdul Rahim Shah was previously the general manager of the Technical and Operations Department at SIRIM Calibration, succeeding Dr Faridah Hussain, who has been appointed as Chief Metrologist at the National Metrology Institute of Malaysia (NMIM).
Nagyb Shah received his higher education at Lancaster University, United Kingdom, with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Accounting & Finance, and later earned a Master of Business Administration from Exeter University, UK.
SIRIM QAS International and SIRIM Calibration are wholly owned subsidiaries of SIRIM Berhad.
