KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 6 (Bernama) -- Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd will provide free feeder bus services for the public travelling to the Sri Subramaniar Swamy Temple, Batu Caves, and the Arulmigu Balathandayuthapani Temple, Penang, in conjunction with the Thaipusam celebration on Feb 11.
In a statement today, Rapid Bus said that 42 buses would be deployed to support the 24-hour operation, with 30 buses in Kuala Lumpur (Rapid KL) and 12 buses in Penang (Rapid Penang).
“This initiative is part of Rapid Bus’ effort to make it easier for the public to visit the locations while encouraging the use of public transport to help reduce congestion in the surrounding areas.
“We will monitor passenger needs from time to time and are ready to increase the number of buses if necessary to ensure passenger comfort,” it said.
Free feeder bus services in Kuala Lumpur will operate on Feb 10 from 6 am to midnight (Feb 11), with a 10-minute frequency for the Central Market Hub-Batu Caves (BC02), Gombak-Batu Caves LRT Station (BC03), and Kg Batu-Batu Caves MRT Station (BC04) routes.
On Feb 11, the feeder bus service will operate from midnight and run until midnight on Feb 12 for the same routes.
In Penang, the free bus service will cover the Weld Quey Terminal (Jetty)-Penang Adventist Hospital route, with a frequency of 20 to 60 minutes, depending on the arrival time of the ferry.
The first trip at Weld Quey Terminal (Jetty) will start at 7 am on Feb 10, with the last trip at 1 am on Feb 12, while at Penang Adventist Hospital, the first trip will begin at 7.30 am on Feb 10 and the last trip at 2 am on Feb 12.
