KANGAR, Feb 7 (Bernama) -- The Perlis East Wind Festival 2025 (PAT 2025) will feature exciting events, including the Giant Straw Sculpture Competition, Wau Helang Competition and Traditional and Modern Kite Displays at Kampung Lat Seribu, Tambung Tulang, near Arau from Feb 21 to 23.
Perlis National Department for Culture and Arts (JKKN) director Norazlin Nordin said the Giant Straw Sculpture Competition aims to attract 10 entries from within and outside Perlis.
“We hope to see participants from diverse backgrounds, including public universities, private companies and individuals,” she said in a statement today.
The Wau Helang Competition and the Traditional and Modern Kite Displays are expected to draw 500 participants, while visitors can also enjoy an RC Plane Exhibition & Show featuring thrilling aerobatic performances.
Norazlin said PAT 2025 is set to welcome 10,000 participants competing in over 42 events, with attractive prizes up for grabs.
“The competitions have garnered interest from across Malaysia and neighbouring Thailand,” she said.
She added that the Raja of Perlis Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail is expected to officiate the festival.
JKKN, in collaboration with the Perlis state government, will also organise a community feast, where food will be prepared gotong-royong style with the local residents.
“What makes it special is that over 4,000 visitors will get to enjoy the meal together with the Raja of Perlis,” she said.
