VETERAN ACTOR ROSLAN SALEH LAID TO REST

ALOR GAJAH, Feb 7 (Bernama) -- The remains of veteran actor Roslan Saleh, who died this morning, were laid to rest at the Kampung Rantau Panjang Muslim Cemetery, Masjid Tanah, at 3.15 pm today.

Earlier, his remains were taken to Masjid Ar Rahman, Kampung Rantau Panjang, where the funeral rites were performed before burial.

More than 100 people, including family members, friends and fellow artistes, gathered to pay their last respects at the ceremony.

Actor and singer Zulkifli Mohamad, better known as Zack Kool, said he was aware of Roslan’s declining health due to diabetes, which also led to his loss of eyesight.

“I’m deeply saddened by his passing. Despite his tough-looking appearance, he had a warm heart. I will always remember his smile and the wisdom he shared about acting and life,” he told reporters after the burial.

Meanwhile, veteran actress Maimunah Ahmad, or Mak Jah, said she had known Roslan for nearly 40 years and described their relationship as that of family.

“I first met him when he was newly married and still working as a teacher. He later left the profession to join the entertainment industry, and we have remained close ever since.

“When he fell ill, I often visited him in Melaka with my children. His passing was shocking, but knowing that he had been unwell for a long time, I am grateful that he departed on a blessed day,” she said.

Roslan, 69, breathed his last at 7 am at his home in Kampung Rantau Panjang due to complications from multiple illnesses.
