KOTA KINABALU, Feb 8 (Bernama) -- The Housing and Urban Development Board (LPPB) chairman Datuk Masiung Banah has directed the agency’s governance team to take resolute action to address the findings highlighted by the National Audit Department.
He said serious action should be taken immediately to improve the issues raised so that they do not recur and become a persistent problem within the administration.
“Earlier last month, LPPB was flagged in an audit finding concerning the unsatisfactory management of key activities for 2024, due to delays in projects involving third-party collaboration.
“I urge the relevant agencies, especially those dealing with electricity and water supply, to expedite approvals for connections to completed housing project sites,” he said in a statement today.
Masiung said LPPB’s governance should not only focus on resolving audit issues but also ensure that all housing projects are implemented according to schedule.
“I would like to call on all officers and staff to maintain strong teamwork to ensure LPPB maintains its strong financial performance through the activities carried out.
“When I joined LPPB in 2020, the agency’s financial performance had somewhat deteriorated. I introduced reforms and three years later, LPPB has secured a static source of revenue, which allows us to grant annual bonuses to our staff,” he added.
