RMHC MALAYSIA SPREADS FESTIVE CHEER WITH UNDERPRIVILEGED CHILDREN

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 10 (Bernama) -- Ronald McDonald House Charities Malaysia (RMHC Malaysia) will continue to support underprivileged children during festive seasons to create more moments of joy and provide assistance to those in need.

General Manager of RMHC Malaysia Nasri Nordin said today that in conjunction with Chinese New Year, the charity is hosting a large-scale event to bring joy to 50 children from two orphanages at McDonald’s Pantai Sentral Park, Bukit Kerinchi.

“We celebrate Malaysian festivals. Previously, we celebrated Christmas, and now it’s Chinese New Year. Next, we have Ramadan and Syawal, followed by Deepavali. We do not forget the children in orphanage homes.

“We want these children to feel cherished and celebrated, especially during Chinese New Year. We don’t want them to feel left out, so we brought them here today - almost 50 children - with plenty of gifts and ang pows to make the occasion memorable for them,” he told reporters today.

Nasri also emphasized that RMHC Malaysia remains focused on children’s welfare, particularly in health and education.

“Today, we are also giving away Back to School Packs since the school term will start soon. It’s the perfect time for us to contribute to those in need, especially when it comes to school essentials.

“We are distributing 10,000 school bags nationwide, and today, 50 children from Yayasan Sunbeams Home and Pusat Jagaan Rumah Charis will receive these school essentials to help them prepare for the upcoming school term,” he added.

Meanwhile, RMHC Malaysia in a statement said that attendees were treated to a vibrant traditional lion dance performance and heartwarming showcases by the children.
