MADANI CONCEPT FOSTERS UNITY IN MULTIRACIAL SOCIETY - CHAN

KANGAR, Feb 12 (Bernama) -- The MADANI concept is a core value embraced across all levels of Malaysian society, fostering unity among the country’s multiracial and multi-religious citizens.

Prime Minister’s political secretary Chan Ming Kai said that despite cultural differences, Malaysians consistently uphold harmony and strive to understand diversity in the spirit of MADANI.

“Diversity does not mean that all elements must always coexist simultaneously. Instead, it means that our differences should not be barriers.

“Everyone should have the space and freedom to celebrate each culture without prejudice while continuously creating opportunities for mutual understanding,” he said at a Chinese New Year and Chap Goh Mei celebration organised by the Indera Kayangan State Assemblyman’s Service Centre last night.

The event was graced by the Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail and the Raja Puan Muda of Perlis Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, with Indera Kayangan assemblyman Gan Ay Ling also present.

Chan said that in a world rife with misinformation and hate, people must remain patient and adopt a positive and inclusive approach rather than engage in disputes.

Having served as Indera Kayangan assemblyman from 2013 to 2018, he also pledged to support Perlis’ development and welfare and thanked those who backed the MADANI agenda.

Meanwhile, Gan said the event included welfare contributions for 600 recipients, comprising 100 persons with disabilities and 100 senior citizens receiving food baskets, while 400 school students were given a school bag and RM50 in cash.
