KUANTAN, Feb 19 (Bernama) -- The Pahang government will support the Pahang State Farmers' Organisation (PASFA) if the agency wishes to implement any planting or livestock projects.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said this is because PASFA is found to be capable of carrying out such projects successfully, which can provide benefits to the participants involved.
“As far as I know, PASFA has never failed to provide dividends to its participants. They use resources, including land provided by the state government, for successful planting or livestock ventures.
“As such, if there is an application from PASFA, such as planting coconuts, which have high demand, the state government will give proper consideration because the benefits can be enjoyed by many people, not just individuals,” he told reporters here today.
He said this after the PPRT Bukit Gayong Cattle and Oil Palm Integrated Joint Venture Farm Dividend handover ceremony to E-Kasih Participants here today.
At the event, a total of 500 participants received dividends of RM1,561 each, with the total dividend payout amounting to over RM780,500.
Wan Rosdy said one of the key factors for PASFA’s success is that it manages projects well, with no leakage, and is focused on achieving its goals.
“They conduct research, for example, on the suitable fertiliser for oil palm, and this is not done haphazardly,” he said.
