KANGAR, Feb 21 (Bernama) -- The Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail, today unveiled the official logo for his Silver Jubilee celebrations at the Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail Mosque in Kuala Perlis near here.
The Silver Jubilee celebrations, marking 25 years of Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail’s reign, will take place on April 17.
The launch ceremony was also graced by the Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail. Also present was Perlis Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli.
Istana Arau, in a statement today, said the logo was not just a symbol of celebration but also reflected the excellence of Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin’s reign, with each element carefully designed to embody his leadership in advancing Perlis towards progress, prosperity, and the well-being of its people.
The logo design incorporated seven main elements representing the greatness, stability, and prosperity of Perlis under Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin’s leadership, it added.
“Among the seven unique elements with implicit meanings in this logo is the ‘Tengkolok Putra Julang Darjat’, the official headgear of the Raja of Perlis, placed at the top. It represents the sovereignty, greatness, and heritage of the Perlis royal institution and symbolises the justice and authority of his reign.
“The inscription ‘جوبلى فيراق’ (Silver Jubilee) in Arabic calligraphy reflects the Islamic heritage that serves as the core of Perlis culture. The number ‘25’ in gold symbolises the Raja of Perlis’ two and a half decades of reign,” the statement read.
According to Istana Arau, the use of gold reflected the success, stability, and excellence Perlis had achieved throughout the period.
“Encircling the logo, the gold ring bearing the official text ‘SAMBUTAN JUBLI PERAK PEMERINTAHAN DYMM TUANKU SYED SIRAJUDDIN JAMALULLAIL, RAJA PERLIS’ represents the ongoing commitment to a peaceful, harmonious, and inclusive government that unites all levels of society, regardless of religion, race, or culture,” it said.
The statement said that the Jawi script displaying His Royal Highness’ name, “Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail,” along with the “Pelita” or “Siraj” motif, represented the light of wisdom, signifying Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin’s role as a guiding force for the state, ensuring progress and the well-being of the people.
“Meanwhile, the Royal Coat of Arms of Perlis stands as a testament to the state government’s prominence and the continuity of the Royal Jamalullail Dynasty. The inscription ‘2000 - 2025’ reflects the timeline of Tuanku’s reign, highlighting an era of prosperity, progress, and the well-being of the people,” the statement read.
