KANGAR, Feb 23 (Bernama) --The Ministry of National Unity will focus on digitalising museum, libraries and archive services to attract young people to visit the places concerned.
The ministry's Secretary-General Datuk Seri Hasnol Zam Zam Ahmad said the move was important to provide a more interactive experience for young people, thus making them interested in the country's history and heritage.
"The concept of bringing the experience to the community needs to be strengthened because we are now in a different ecosystem and need to adapt our approach according to the changing times," he told reporters after a meeting with staff of agencies under the ministry in Perlis here today.
Perlis Unity director Hanita Ahmad was also present.
In another development, Hasnol Zam Zam said the National Unity Index will be implemented this year and the ministry hoped to see an increase in the unity level in the community.
"This study is the third after 2018 and 2022. We hope this time the score can reach 0.7 compared to 0.629 before, thus showing an increase in unity among the community," he said.
Earlier, in his speech, Hasnol Zam Zam said agencies under the ministry need to be more proactive in spreading the message of unity to the community through various platforms including social media.
"The Prime Minister (Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim) also emphasised the importance of highlighting more unity initiatives by the ministry and related agencies," he said.
