KUALA LUMPUR, March 21 (Bernama) -- Amanah president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu has called on the public to join a solidarity gathering for the Palestinian people in front of the United States embassy on March 28 to protest against Israel’s airstrikes on the Gaza Strip.
He said those who wish to participate can assemble at Masjid Tabung Haji after Friday prayers.
“Let the world know that Malaysians will not remain silent!
“We are not just condemning the Zionist Israeli regime. We also want to express our disappointment and anger towards Arab countries that have allowed our fellow Muslim brothers and sisters in Palestine to continue suffering,” he said in a Facebook post today.
The Israeli army launched a surprise aerial campaign on the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, shattering a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that took hold in January.
Nearly 50,000 Palestinians have been killed, mostly women and children, and over 112,000 others injured in a brutal Israeli military campaign in Gaza since October 2023.
