TH DEPOSITORS EXPRESS GRATITUDE FOR 3.25 PCT PROFIT DISTRIBUTION

KUALA LUMPUR, March 21 (Bernama) -- Several Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) depositors have expressed gratitude for the announcement of a 3.25 per cent profit distribution after zakat for the 2024 financial year.

A check on social media found that many lauded TH’s achievements as an Islamic institution dedicated to managing and providing comprehensive and systematic haj services for the welfare of Malaysian pilgrims.

Trader Siti Salwa Mat Radzi, 39, said she was satisfied with TH’s profit distribution despite the country facing economic uncertainty.

“As a depositor who has been saving for the past 10 years, I am grateful, as this will help grow my savings for my pilgrimage to the Holy Land, Insya-Allah,” she said.

Private sector worker Azim Aiman Azli, 22, described the profit distribution as a welcome blessing in the holy month of Ramadan.

Expressing gratitude to TH for managing the zakat payment, he said the profit could help increase depositors’ savings.

For senior citizen Normah Abdullah, 71, who had performed the haj before after saving for more than 30 years, TH remained her preferred choice, as it offered profit distribution from halal investments and complied with syariah principles.

TH today announced a profit distribution of 3.25 per cent after zakat for the 2024 financial year, the highest rate in seven years since 2018.

The total profit distribution amounts to RM2.92 billion, benefiting more than 9.54 million TH depositors.

Depositors can check their 2024 profit distribution, credited into their accounts from this Sunday, via the THiJARI platform, Tabung Haji counters, Bank Islam and Bank Rakyat counters, as well as electronic banking channels of TH’s strategic partner banks - Bank Islam, Bank Rakyat, Maybank Islamic, CIMB Islamic and AmBank Islamic.
