RELIGIOUS GROUPS APPRECIATE GOVERNMENT'S SPECIAL AIDILFITRI AID

21/03/2025 11:29 PM

CHUKAI, March 21 (Bernama) -- The Special Financial Aid (BKK) of RM250 for Aidilfitri to Quran and Fardhu Ain (KAFA) class teachers, takmir teachers, imams, bilals, mosque caretakers, janitors, and custodians is proof that the government does not neglect the religious community.

Muhammad Sya'rani Asa'ari, 36, the Bilal of Sultan Ahmad Mosque here, said that the special gift during Aidilfitri is a form of appreciation for the religious community that promotes the Islamic faith.

He said that although the amount might be considered small by some, it can somewhat help him make preparations for Eid for his four children, aged between one and 12 years.

"Thank God, and appreciation to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who has announced special grants for KAFA teachers and mosque staff."

"Here (Sultan Ahmad Mosque) we have three imams, three bilals and a caretaker. Insya-Allah this contribution will be beneficial for our use," he said when met at the MADANI Iftar event at Sultan Ahmad Mosque here today.

Meanwhile, a KAFA teacher at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Paya Bunga in Kuala Terengganu, Nashuha Azizah Abdul Wahab, 38, said the assistance was very meaningful for her and her fellow teachers in preparing for Aidilfitri.

The mother of four children said that the assistance would certainly be used by her to buy additional items for the upcoming Aidilfitri celebration.

"My husband works as a general helper and his income is not big, just enough to cover our family's basic needs.

"Alhamdulillah, I consider this gift as a Ramadan blessing. Surely, it can somewhat help cover the purchase of Raya items that are still lacking," she said.

The Prime Minister today announced an Aidilfitri BKK of RM250 to KAFA teachers, takmir teachers, imams, bilals, tok siak, noja and marbut in the country.

Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, said the aid will be disbursed next week, involving 70,000 recipients with an allocation of RM17 million.
