AKPK RELEASES 'DERIA RAYA' VIDEO TO INSPIRE UNITY, RESILIENCE

KUALA LUMPUR, March 22 (Bernama) -- The importance of family and togetherness takes centre stage in this year’s Raya video by the Credit Counselling and Debt Management Agency (AKPK), aimed at motivating those facing hardships, particularly financial struggles, to rise above their challenges.

Encouraging the public to watch Deria Raya on its official social media platform @AKPKofficial, the agency’s chief executive officer Azaddin Ngah Tasir said the video reflects AKPK’s values that no one should face life’s difficulties alone.

“Everyone deserves the support they need to overcome struggles and rebuild their lives. This is the true meaning of togetherness.

“With strong unity, ongoing support and an individual’s determination to rise and change their circumstances, there is always hope for a brighter future,” he said in a statement today.

The Deria Raya video follows the emotional journey of Hashimah and her family, who face hardship during Ramadan and Syawal preparations after her eldest brother loses his sight in an accident.

Once cheerful, the brother becomes withdrawn, feeling Raya has lost its meaning. Yet, his family’s unwavering love, strong bonds and steadfast belief help reignite his strength and hope.

Azaddin said AKPK remains committed to offering solutions and renewed hope to those feeling overwhelmed and discouraged by financial burdens.

“We urge those facing financial issues to seek help early. Reach out to the relevant financial institutions or contact AKPK for free and comprehensive financial advice or debt management services.

“Everyone deserves a second chance to rebuild their lives and achieve peace of mind,” he added.

Azaddin also highlighted the importance of financial literacy and proper guidance to help individuals avoid overwhelming debt.

Since its establishment in 2006, AKPK has assisted over 1.4 million individuals through financial counselling services. Of these, nearly 550,000 borrowers have enrolled in its Credit Management Programme (PPK).
