MASJID AT-TAQWA TTDI HOSTS BREAKING-OF-FAST FOR UNITY, WELCOMES 150 NON-MUSLIMS

KUALA LUMPUR, March 23 (Bernama) -- A total of 150 non-Muslim individuals from Segambut were invited to a special breaking-of-fast event at Masjid At-Taqwa in Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI), last night, as part of an initiative to strengthen harmony and unity within Malaysia’s diverse society.

Segambut Member of Parliament and Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh, who attended the event, said such programmes play a crucial role in fostering unity and understanding among Malaysia’s diverse cultural and religious communities.

“Initiatives like this are vital in nurturing harmony among our multiracial communities, allowing us to live together peacefully, with mutual respect,” she said in a Facebook post, today.

She highlighted that the TTDI community exemplifies the spirit of multiracial Malaysia, as seen in the naming of its streets after prominent figures from diverse backgrounds, including Jalan Burhanuddin Helmi, Jalan Athinahapan, Jalan Rahim Kajai, Jalan Leong Yew Koh, and Jalan Abang Haji Openg.

Hannah also expressed appreciation to Masjid At-Taqwa for organising annual events which promote inclusivity and encourage participation from all segments of society, setting a positive example for national unity.

“Thank you to Masjid At-Taqwa for being a model of a united community, and for your unwavering commitment to fostering inclusivity and harmony through programmes like this,” she said.

The event was also attended by local leaders, mosque committee members, and TTDI residents.
