MELAKA, April 4 (Bernama) -- The presence of over 50,000 visitors is set to enliven the National-level MADANI Aidilfitri Celebration 2025 at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) here tomorrow.
Unity Ministry Strategic Collaboration Division secretary Zaimy Shaari said they are expecting visitors not only from Melaka but also from Johor, Negeri Sembilan and the Klang Valley.
"So far, everything is going smoothly because we have been preparing since before Aidilfitri… besides the Aidilfitri celebration, the event will also feature other activities, including performances by guest artistes.
"We will also hold the 2025 Unity Week Celebration at the MITC grounds tonight as a 'warm-up’ before the main event tomorrow,” he told reporters at the MITC here today.
Zaimy added that one of the highlights of this year's celebration is the diverse range of delicacies served, representing different ethnic groups and states, including Sabah and Sarawak.
He also encouraged visitors to wear their respective ethnic attire to highlight the diversity of the Malaysian people, thus further enlivening the celebration.
Melaka is the first state to organise the MADANI Aidilfitri Celebration 2025, which is also elevated to being a national-level event.
The celebration, scheduled to be held from 10 am to 4 pm, will be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and it is being organised in collaboration with the Melaka government, as the host, and the National Unity Ministry, as the lead ministry.
To facilitate the movement of visitors, the state government will provide a free shuttle bus service from the Al-Alami Mosque, MITC; Mydin Ayer Keroh; and Lingkaran MITC.
Melaka is among the eight states chosen to host the MADANI Aidilfitri 2025 celebration. It will also be held in Selangor on April 6, Pahang (April 11), Kelantan and Penang (April 12), Sarawak (April 19), Perak (April 25) and Perlis (April 27).
