NATIONAL UNITY MINISTRY TO MOBILISE RUKUN NEGARA LOYALTY CAMPAIGN

MELAKA, April 4 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of National Unity will launch the Rukun Negara Loyalty Campaign through various social media platforms starting this year, said its Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang.

He said the campaign based on the fifth principle of Rukun Negara, namely Courtesy and Morality, is seen as important to instill as these two elements appear to be increasingly eroding among users of social media platforms at the moment.

"As we will be celebrating the 55th anniversary of Rukun Negara this year, I am proposing to launch the Rukun Negara Loyalty Campaign in Melaka.

"I am confident that this can be implemented well as one of Melaka's signature programmes is the Rukun Negara Speech Competition," he said.

He told reporters after officiating the Kick-Off Ceremony for the 2025 Unity Week Celebration at Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) in Ayer Keroh here tonight.

Also present were the Deputy Minister Senator K Saraswathy, State Health, Human Resources and Unity exco Datuk Ngwe Hee Sem, National Unity Ministry secretary-general Datuk Ruji Ubi and Melaka State Secretary Datuk Azhar Arshad.

He said that currently his ministry has various physical programmes based on unity among the community such as the Rukun Negara Club in primary schools and the Rukun Negara Secretariat at public university level.

He said that therefore the Ministry of National Unity will focus on social media in its efforts to foster unity and harmony among the diverse communities in this country.
