PUTRAJAYA, April 8 (Bernama) -- A total of 39 out of the 150 victims involved in the gas pipeline fire tragedy in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, last Tuesday are still receiving treatment at hospitals and clinics.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) said that 17 victims are being treated at government hospitals and 22 others at private facilities, including one in the intensive care unit (ICU). A total of 111 patients have been discharged.
“A 21-year-old man is receiving treatment in the ICU of a private facility after sustaining 21 per cent deep partial thickness and full thickness burns to all four limbs, face, neck, and back with multi-organ dysfunction syndrome,” according to the daily data released by MOH today.
The ministry also said that there are 12 patients at Putrajaya Hospital, two at Kuala Lumpur Hospital, and one patient each at Sultan Idris Shah Hospital, Serdang, Ampang Hospital, and Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang.
It said Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Services (MHPSS) activities are also being carried out at two temporary relief centres (PPS), namely at the Putra Heights Mosque Hall and Camelia Hall, as well as at Putrajaya Hospital, with 112 individuals receiving MHPSS interventions.
Among the interventions carried out were relaxation, art expression, and basic psychological first aid (PFA) skills.
