UUM RECORDS GRADUATE EMPLOYABILITY RATE OF 96.6 PER CENT LAST YEAR

ALOR SETAR, April 12 (Bernama) -- Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) successfully recorded a graduate employability rate (GE) of 96.6 per cent last year.

Its vice-chancellor, Prof Datuk Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan said official data released by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) based on the Graduate Tracer Study (SKPG) showed that UUM's GE had increased consistently, namely 94.4 per cent in 2022, 95 per cent in 2023, and 96.6 per cent in 2024.

“This also exceeded the national target of 86.4 per cent and made UUM an institution focused on management and business that has proven to be successful in producing high-quality graduates.

“In addition, the employment rate of UUM graduates also recorded an impressive achievement of 97.1 per cent through the MOHE’s new operational definition for Graduate Employment Rate, hence proving the effectiveness of the university's holistic approach in preparing students for the challenging world of employment,” he said in a statement today.

He said the university also expressed gratitude to the industry for continuing to trust in the abilities and skills of UUM graduates.

Mohd Foad said this success also reflects UUM’s commitment to adopting an industry-oriented education approach that balances theory and practical skills in line with modern needs.

“Through this achievement, UUM not only continues to strengthen as a leading management and business university, but also becomes the main destination for students who want to shape a bright career future,” he said.
