MCMC’S HBK INITIATIVE BOOSTS DIGITAL INCLUSION IN AYER KUNING

TAPAH, April 13 (Bernama) -- The Hari Bersama Komuniti (HBK) programme at the Air Kuning National Information Dissemination Centre (NADI) here serves as a catalyst for community empowerment through the introduction of various smart services.

In a statement, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) said the programme strengthened the digital inclusion and community development agenda in the Ayer Kuning state constituency through a holistic approach.

“Today’s event saw active participation from all segments of the community in high-impact activities focusing on skills development, education, self-empowerment and entrepreneurship,” it said.

The programme was officiated by Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.

Among the highlights were promotions of NADI Smart Services, which introduced five core digital initiatives to visitors, along with new member registrations and digital training.

There were also briefings on cyber safety and ethics, NADIpreneur and EmpowHER programmes offering basic entrepreneurial exposure, and free health screenings.

In addition, entrepreneurs from Air Kuning and Sri Bidor PPR NADI also showcased and sold their products, creating a platform for local product promotion and marketing.

HBK also saw collaboration between agencies through the Rahmah MADANI Sale by the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry and the Agro MADANI Sale by the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA), which offer essential goods and fresh produce at affordable prices.

The initiative is part of MCMC’s ongoing efforts to empower communities through inclusive digital and technology-driven approaches, in line with the Malaysia MADANI aspiration of creating a digitally literate society.
