SEREMBAN, April 16 (Bernama) -- Rasah member of parliament Cha Kee Chin has proposed that MADANI Community programmes be made more diverse and inclusive to ensure government messages are effectively communicated across all segments of society.
He stressed that this is especially important in areas without a Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK) to prevent overlapping initiatives and ensure better coordination.
Cha noted that 15 MADANI communities have been established in his constituency, bringing the total number in Negeri Sembilan to 108 across 36 state constituencies. Each community receives a dedicated allocation to carry out activities throughout the year.
"I do not impose a set number of programmes that each Community must organise. I leave it entirely to them to manage and plan according to their needs. So far, the communities in Rasah have been actively engaging with the local population," he said.
He hoped the programme would continue to play an active role in conveying government messages while also serving as a vital link between the government and the people in delivering accurate and reliable information.
He was speaking at the Rasah parliamentary constituency’s MADANI Community Hari Raya celebration at Dewan Karisma Arena, which was also attended by Negeri Sembilan Information Department director Azrul Hasan.
Cha emphasised the need for careful planning of the programmes in areas without a JPKK, adding that activities should not be concentrated in just one location.
"Let these programmes be spread out. They should involve various segments of the community, not just the same group of people each time," he said.
Malaysia MADANI is a holistic and integrated effort to ensure that national policies and implementation are more people-centred, continuously refined through consultation and public feedback.
Six core values underpin the Malaysia MADANI concept: Sustainability, Prosperity, Innovation, Respect, Trust, and Compassion—principles that the public is encouraged to understand and embrace.
