SHAH ALAM, April 17 (Bernama) -- The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) group is prepared to provide temporary rental housing to victims of the gas pipeline fire incident in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya.
Its chief executive officer Datuk Mahmud Abbas said discussions are being held with the state government to ensure the affected victims can obtain comfortable housing.
He said all application processes and rental offers for the victims will be managed by the state government and the Selangor Housing and Property Board.
"God willing, our monthly rental rates are low, but the state government will determine this matter," he told reporters at the PKNS Aidilfitri event at the Shah Alam Convention Centre today.
Mahmud added that potential housing locations include Sections 6, 7, and 13 in Shah Alam as well as in Kuala Lumpur, comprising various types of residences such as apartments, condominiums, terrace houses, semi-detached houses, and bungalows.
The gas pipeline fire on April 1 caused flames to shoot up over 30 metres high, with temperatures reaching over 1,000 degrees Celsius, affecting 219 homes.
