KUALA LUMPUR, April 23 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Health (MOH) has reaffirmed its commitment to transforming Malaysia’s healthcare landscape through digitalisation, while underscoring that the future of healthcare cannot be built in isolation.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said as part of preparations under the upcoming 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP), the government is implementing the Cloud-Based Clinical Management System (CCMS) and the One Individual, One Record initiative to consolidate patient data and ensure real-time access across public and private healthcare facilities.

“We recognise that the future of healthcare cannot be built in isolation. Modern healthcare progress hinges on cross-border partnerships, dynamic public-private collaborations, and a relentless exchange of knowledge.

“It is through collective action that we can transform technological advancements into real-world solutions that will elevate patient outcomes, strengthen health security, and bridge gaps in healthcare equity, " he said in his officiating address at the opening ceremony of the SEA Healthcare and Pharma Conference (SEACare 2025) here today.

SEACare 2025, themed 'Strategic Partnerships in Healthcare Innovation: Fostering Collaboration for Digital Transformation', is organised by Qube Integrated Malaysia Sdn Bhd and co-organised by the National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NCSM) from today to April 25.

It also witnessed an MoU between Qube and the Malaysian Dental Association (MDA) for a strategic alliance introducing a new component for SEACare 2026 by integrating MDA’s Scientific Convention and Trade Exhibition (SCATE).

The opening ceremony also marked several key announcements to deepen regional healthcare collaborations including the launch of the Zafar VC Fund by SEACare 2025 Conference Partner, Five Pillar Venture Capital Sdn. Bhd.

Meanwhile, Qube executive chairman Richard Teo in his welcome remarks said SEACare has evolved into a dynamic business-matching platform, empowering healthcare and pharmaceutical brands to connect, network, and forge strategic partnerships across Malaysia and Southeast Asia.

"Healthcare in our region is evolving rapidly. From technological breakthroughs to the growing demand for accessible and sustainable care, we are at a pivotal moment where innovation must meet the pressing needs of our communities," he said.

Teo said as the organiser of SEACare, Qube takes great pride in curating this vital business platform, and this year, they are raising the bar by focusing on strategic business matchmaking, thought leadership forums, and industry-driven networking opportunities, ensuring every exhibitor and attendee gains real, tangible value.

"In addition, we are proud to strengthen SEACare’s role as a global healthcare connector with endorsement from MATRADE alongside strategic collaborations with the Medical Device Authority of Malaysia and NCSM.

Meanwhile the conference organising chairman and NCSM managing director Associate Prof Dr Murallitharan Munisamy in his special remarks said a total of RM1 billion of Zafar VC fund will be committed to innovative startups across the country.
